To unlock the secret dungeon, beat the game once and continue the New Game plus game save. This dungeon will be unlocked after you clear the Mount Vaal event in the New Game plus. My character was level 40-41 in this video.
has ne1 ever though that its weird that river belle path is the first place in the original ffcc and it is a secret place in this v that you get in the hard run? cuz i think thats weird
Thank you very much for these videos and guides, they are very helpful. I just wanted to know what armour and weapons you used and also what level you are
I think that is makes perfect sense that River Belle is last. In Ring Of Fates, the Giant Crystal is still intact. So this game is the prequel to the Original Crystal Chronicles.
What I like is that in FFCC you have to carry the chalice to protect you from the miasma, and that is what this level is like. It shows you how everything is becoming unsafe and how you will need constant protection.
But I understand there is no clear cut place where you find out this is the prequel,so I understand where you are coming from.
The people that made the game said that Chalice was just to adress the limitations of the screen.
=/ Don't know if I would call it a prequel. I remember reading somewhere that they all take place around the same time. Each section is seperate and My Life as a King is just another distant area of the Crystal Chronicles world... I don't know though, maybe River Belle is non-canon in Ring of Fates?
Whoever said this is the prequel is probably right. I've played a snatch of the first game and the first Dungeon was River Belle and the boss was the Giant Crab, only it was more cowardly...lol.
Something tells me that they just barely adapted the magic system off of Mog's. Anyone remember him? So fluffy and cute and paintable!
Also, why do (and why have) moogles said kupo after every sentence since about FF4?
Did my first trip through, got 2 Giant Crab Shells, 2 Dark Crystals, and 4 assorted gems. He's ridiculously easy even without the barrier up. Also does he come back for multiple fights in story mode or is he replaced by normal enemies like every other boss?
@ krael: Yeah, they put River Belle and the Giant Crab in as a teaser.
For me, it brings back notalgic moments of me and my friend trying to solve a puzzle in the GCN game, but I wouldn't cooperate. xD
And yeah, Ring of Fates is the GCN game's prequel. It akes place 1000's of years before the first game (Wait... If this is a prequel, then isn't it the second game? xD). Sos says an interview on Square Enix Members, and the Wikipedia page.
You can tell it was meant to be a prequel because in the original Crystal Chronicles, a moogle couple made a house of their own directly to the right of the boss entrance. BUT, in Ring of Fates, the house isn't there but a sign states that "It's a perfect location for a moogle house." And at some point during the story (if you were paying attention...) it notes a distant part of the Crystal Chronicles world that is having a "miasma" issue to deal with themselves. It's obviously a prequal to the original Gamecube game. Also, there isn't any info on it, but the female narrator in the original may have some link to Yuri and Chelinka's mother...or at least it seemed that way to me...
in his dungeon run he had just leveled to level 41, so he most likely is still level 41 at the boss, keep in mind the Japanese version might be different than the US 1 therefore he may be doing more damage. great speed run, and great boss kill (usually you can get more than 1 hit on the boss before it reacts, so you could have taken down the video by around 30 seconds, but great none the less
Dude thanks for the guides and videos they were major help.
Oh and this is a prequel to FFCC for the GCN because Rebena Te Ra is destroyed in that version. I guess they could have shown it more but since this game did come out after the first there wasn't many ways to link it outside of Rebena Te Ra (and what the woman says who narrated it in the first game), that little site where the two moogles had a home in the GCN version, and the talk about the Miasma though it wasn't much.
YEAH, IT GOES RoF, original chrystal chronicals, then EoT. You can tell by the moogles house. It isnt built in RoF, is Built in original, and is destroyed and being rebuilt in EoT.
